AJ wholesale jerseys McCarron needs to simmer down.
Take a cue from Johnny Manziel (has anyone ever cheap nfl jerseys said that before?) and just stop giving people reasons to bash you.
McCarron, who won two national championships as Alabama’s starting quarterback and was runner up in the Heisman Trophy voting last season, reportedly came across as being arrogant in his pre draft meetings with some NFL teams and publicly predicted that he’d be picked in the first round somewhere between 16th and 35th.

He ended up going in the fifth round, 164th overall to the Cincinnati Bengals. But that hasn’t stopped McCarron’s self assured ramblings.
"I guess when teams met with me, they wanted me to say I’ll be a third round guy and a mediocre quarterback," McCarron told reporters Wednesday in Cincinnati. "Maybe I was too honest or something. I’m an honest person and I say what I feel. That’s how I feel about my play. If that turns a team off, then at the end of the day, to me, they didn’t really want you. challenges facing LinkedIn as it seeks to expand its CanadianJonathan Lister isn’t just the new leader of LinkedIn Canada, he’s also a shining example of the site’s recruiting power. It was through his LinkedIn profile that the business oriented social network site approached Mr. Lister, then the country manager for Google Canada, to build the Mountain View, Calif. based company’s Canadian headquarters. As country manager for LinkedIn, it will now be up to Mr. Lister to introduce the social networking firm to the Canadian business community and to educate executives about how LinkedIn can not only help recruit top talent, but also manage those employees more effectively. Since taking over his new role on June 28, Mr. Lister has established the company’s Canadian headquarters at 2 Bloor Street East in Toronto and has begun hiring, recruiting through LinkedIn’s service. In an interview with Financial Post technology reporter Matt Hartley, Mr. Lister discusses his mandate to grow LinkedIn in Canada, his departure from Google and the challenges facing LinkedIn as it seeks to expand its Canadian Q It’s been about two and a half months since you took over LinkedIn’s Canadian office on June 28. What have you learned so far?
A First, I think the opportunity at LinkedIn is way larger than I thought it was. I think LinkedIn really has the potential to revolutionize not just talent acquisition, but talent management. That’s one of our longer term goals: To almost be synonymous with talent. We have three lines of business and they’re all growing. We have our recruiting line of business, we have an advertising line of business and we have a subscription line of business. Our membership is growing, we’re now past two million members in Canada. We’ve passed 75 million worldwide, we’re the world’s largest professional network and we’re growing dramatically. And we’re growing staff; we’re growing from more than 400 to more than 600 and we’ll be over 900 by the end of the year.
Q When I spoke with Arvind Rajan [vice Cheap Basketball Jerseys president, international, for LinkedIn] earlier this year, we talked about the three business areas for LinkedIn: subscription, recruiting solutions and advertising. How would you characterize the state of each of those businesses within Canada?
A The slightly Cheap Jerseys From China bigger picture is that this is a seven year old company, so all of these are somewhat nascent revenue streams in Canada, but are growing very rapidly. As the business matures, we’ll see how they shake out. We know we have the potential on the advertising side to be game changing in the business to business solutions space, connecting corporations or companies with vendors and suppliers. There aren’t many organizations that are going to be able to do that as well as LinkedIn.
Q Out of those three businesses, do you see any one of Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale them being particularly well suited for the Canadian market? Do you see one emerging as something Canada does best?
A Hiring solutions, the recruiting product, is really well suited for the Canadian business community. There are about three million business in Canada, roughly half of which are small business, and I think LinkedIn offers small businesses or medium sized businesses a great opportunity to recruit effectively, cheaply and efficiently. At the same time, it provides really good marketing capabilities for small business. If I’m a dentist or an accountant, why wouldn’t I build a company profile on LinkedIn? I can get references either from people in my network or people who have used my service. It’s a different way to brand their organization, so those are both strong.
Q Your education mandate seems very similar to some of the work you were doing for Google Canada. With Google, it was about building the digital advertising business in Canada, and with LinkedIn, there are other revenue streams. But both roles seem to be about educating the Canadian business community about digital opportunities. How is that education evolving in Canada?
A I’ve spent the last 10 years at a few different companies and a lot of what I’ve been doing has been about educating businesses about new media, the value of new media and the efficiency of new media. Consumers get it, they’re really engaged, and it’s no different with LinkedIn. Consumers are among the most engaged audiences we have. I think businesses need education. They’re still new to the marketing solutions side, but also the hiring solutions side. This is a new and in many ways easier way for companies to recruit candidates and one that they’re not aware of. LinkedIn affords them the chance to go after candidates who aren’t looking. Eighty per cent of the people on LinkedIn have a job. But with the combination of branding your company to these people and using LinkedIn to help build a pool of candidates, that’s new to Canadian businesses.
Women and men in sportsBoston Thirty three weeks pregnant with twins, yet determined to lead her talented University of Maryland women’s basketball team into the national championships, coach Brenda Frese known for energetically pacing the sideline found a novel way to relieve her aching lower back during a home game this month: She had an office chair rolled onto the gym floor. The result, amplified by a giant color photo in USA Today of a seated, beach ball bellied Ms. Frese thrusting her fist into the air, Charles Tillman Jersey was a powerful visual metaphor for women in the world of sports.Frese’s example, like Paula Radcliffe training through pregnancy and winning the 2007 New York City Marathon, doesn’t camouflage but actually flaunts the fact that women are physically different than men.Recommended: Charles Tillman Navy Jersey The Masters: 12 women candidates for Augusta National membershipIt also challenges an assumption that still dogs nflbearsofficial.com/Nike-Tim-Jennings-Jersey.html women today: The female body is athletically inferior to a male body. The Masters: 12 women candidates for www.nflbearsofficial.com/Nike-Alshon-Jeffery-Jersey.html Augusta National membershipFor all the progress women have made in government, business, and the military the shadow of female frailty still shapes the environment of sports. To study the structure of organized athletics today from youth leagues to the Olympics is to see a system that feeds the faulty belief that females can’t play as long, as well, or as hard as males. The strict gender segregation of almost all sports is considered normal, even progressive. But separate, it turns out, is not equal. No, this is not just about athletics. It’s about how we view and value one another. Credit Aristotle for locating female inferiority precisely in the body part men lack: the uterus. The Victorians perfected this argument, as a cadre of 19th century physicians and craniologists laid down the Kyle Fuller Kids Jersey "science" explaining the female’s natural weakness. Of course, it was rooted in the reproductive role and occasioned all manner of "protections," restrictions, and rest.Ads for Nike and Gatorade may feature well muscled, sweat drenched women athletes pushing personal boundaries, but institutional boundaries remain rigid.Men’s pro tennis players play five sets. Women play three (a holdover from 1902, when the US Lawn Tennis Association cut women’s play, fearing over exertion).A 12 year old girl who enters a local tournament sanctioned by US Kids Golf plays just nine holes; a boy her age in the same tournament plays 18 regardless of their relative skill or experience.Co ed adult sports leagues are rife with special "gender rules" to accommodate the supposedly weaker female sex. In some basketball leagues, women get two points for every basket; the men get just one. In touch football, a female touchdown is worth seven points; a male TD earns six. A 24 year old who plays on a co ed softball team recently shared with us her annoyance at rules (no more than two men bat in a row, men hit larger balls, etc) which presume that any male player is better than every female player. Her beef? She played Division I college softball.Of course, there are physical differences between men as a group and women as a group. That would support different rules for super physical sports such as boxing and tackle football. But how does that account for the disparities in billiards and bridge?! Indeed, given that females are physiologically suited for ultra endurance events, why are women’s Olympic events slightly shorter than men’s?The answer to all these questions, in some form, is that sport is not merely about the game. It is, rather, about the identities of those who play and watch the game. It’s about what gets established and reinforced Kyle Fuller Navy Jersey every time sex segregated formulas cast males as categorically superior to females.Sports matter and probably far more than they should. Many more people tune into the Super Bowl than the president’s State of the Union address. When we invest in sports as fans, parents, and recreational players, whether we know it or not, we become complicit in a deeply gendered institution in which male superiority and female inferiority are played out as clearly as HDTV.Ironically, though, we’ve come to accept this differential treatment of males and females as "normal." It appears to be all right to charge $4 to see the Rutgers women’s soccer team play and $7 to see the men’s team play, for example.Likewise, it seems that no one complained (or hardly noticed) when a Massachusetts youth soccer league put a warning in a bold framed box at the top of the online registration page for Spring 2008. Local officials were no doubt trying to be helpful but also reflecting a norm played out in communities across the country. It read, "Note: If you are attempting to register a daughter, please be aware that Newton Youth Soccer is co ed, but primarily boys."Replace gender descriptors with words reflecting race or religion, and the problem becomes appalling. Be aware that Jews are welcome, but the league is mostly gentiles? Be aware that blacks are allowed, but the program is primarily white? No way.Sports are a path to social, economic, and political success. It is not enough to permit girls to play with boys; girls playing equally with boys should be the model. Individual ability not gender should be the first line drawn when organizing play, especially when sex based athletic differences are trivial.Title IX did open doors to girls and women to play sports on a broad scale. But it never demanded equality. Passed at a time when few could imagine the impressive, talented female athletes we have today, the law has codified a sex separate athletic system in which men’s sports are at the center and women’s at the periphery. It’s an insult in a non revenue setting to charge unequal ticket prices. And for marquee sports such as college men’s and women’s basketball, there should be equal promotion at those institutions receiving federal funds. Some argue that because the men "play above the rim" it’s a more exciting game. Ridiculous. "Exciting" is about talent in the face of talent: competition. The Women’s Final Four in recent years has been every bit as nail biting as the men’s NCAA playoff. Differences in style of play certainly don’t keep fans from tuning into college football just because of the NFL.

Share PhotoJerry Attaochu made sure at the Senior Bowl in January that he was on the Chargers’ radar.Jerry Attaochu wanted to be a Charger. He could have crossed his fingers or dropped change into a wishing well. He could have accepted the unpredictable nature to the draft and let be what be.Nah. No, thanks. On Saturday, he arrived in San Diego and was introduced alongside the team’s third round pick, guard Chris Watt, in a media conference. This is the destination for which Attaochu had hoped. The 21 year old participated in the Senior Bowl in January. The All Star game is actually a week long event in which the practices are the highlight for coaches and scouts, who all descend onto Mobile. One day, a practice ended. Scouts and reporters walked onto the field. (Usually, they’re the ones who approach players to initiate a conversation.)Attaochu, pronounced Ah tao choo, spotted a scout in a Chargers hat, approached him, and made his desire clear."I was like, ’What’s up?’" Attaochu said. "I wanted to get their attention. I didn’t have a planned, formal interview with them. I just walked up and said, ’Let’s talk. Are you guys scouting me? What’s up?’ It was a great conversation, and I think I showed how much I cared about being there."A lot of guys go back to their (hotel) room. I stayed there and inquired."Ultimately, Attaochu is here in San Diego for other reasons. The Chargers are excited about his upside and confident that, behind a pair of veterans like Dwight Freeney and Jarret Johnson, he is in the right place to reach it. He carries a good attitude, willing to learn and displaying an earnest enjoyment for the game.Attaochu said he wanted to play for San Diego because he saw the team once on television, deciding then he’d enjoy San Diego.
